White Baby Cribs
White Baby Cribs – 5 Important Things To Consider
Any would be parents would like to ensure that they only provide the new addition to their family with the best. There are many items that they will need to purchase before their child arrives and one of the most important among these is white baby cribs. Below we take a look at a number of things that these parents will need to take into consideration when buying such an important item for their baby.
Consideration 1 – Does It Meet Safety Standards?
When purchasing this important piece of furniture for your baby’s nursery make sure that the slats on it are no more than 2 3/8 inches apart. This is going to ensure that your baby’s head will not be able to slip between them and then get stuck.
Consideration 2 – Can the Height of the Mattress Be Adjusted?
Most cribs available today allow you to alter the height of the mattress simply through moving the position of the base that supports the mattress. Initially you should have the mattress support set at the highest level, then when your baby is able to sit up it should be lowered. Also make sure that you check the mechanism that is used to lock the support in place when altered. What you don’t want is a mechanism that with the slightest movement could result in the support being knocked out of place.
Consideration 3 – How Stable Is It?
When you go to your local store to look at purchasing any kinds of white baby cribs don’t be afraid to give them a good shake. Should they either wobble or rattle then it may be considering looking at other models. But it may simply be down to the fact that the staff in the store have not assembled it correctly. So don’t be afraid to inspect it more carefully to see whether the crib has been assembled in the correct manner or not.
Consideration 4 – Is The Mattress The Right Size?
Although most cribs and their mattresses come in standard sizes there may be slight differences that causes the mattresses not to fit correctly in all makes and models of cribs. Again you should inspect the white baby cribs and mattresses in the store. When looking at them also see if there is any way that you can get two fingers between the side of the mattress and the crib. If this is the case then it immediately tells you the mattress fitted in the crib is too small and can actually prove dangerous for your child to sleep on.
Consideration 5 – How Easy Will The Crib Be To Move?
In most cases today when purchasing any kinds of white baby cribs they will be fitted with casters so moving the unit around won’t be a problem. However, it is better to opt for those that have metal rather than plastic casters as they move more freely, which of course makes the task of moving the crib around a great deal easier. This is something that many new mums will appreciate when it comes to having to change the linen.
